HISTORY

REYTRAPLAST was founded in 1978 and since its inception the company has manufactured post-industrial origin recycled pellets and compounds and produced extruded thermoplastic materials in general.

In recent years, REYTRAPLAST has evolved to respond to an increasingly demanding market and gained its customers’ trust by offering customised solutions for their needs.

The global production of plastics has grown exponentially in the last 50 years. Between 2002 and 2013, it increased by 50%, from 204 to 299 million tons.

The studies anticipate that the mark of 500 million tons per year will be surpassed in 2020.

Since its incorporation, Reytraplast has recycled over an estimated 600,000 tons of plastic waste.
PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Our production capacity exceeds 30,000 tons of different types of recycled plastics each year: PP, PP Homo, PP Copo, PP Compounds, LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PS.

QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT

REYTRAPLAST has an ISO 9001 standard-compliance quality assurance system that guarantees the quality of the products and services it supplies to its customers.

The rigorous quality controls applied to all the company’s products in terms of manufacturing and the raw materials used make it leader in the recycling of industrial plastics.

As a guarantee of its quality, DNV has certified REYTRAPLAST compliant with the ISO 9001: 2015 standard and the certificate has been renewed recently.

REYTRAPLAST is certified by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC, the Catalonian Waste Agency) as a Waste Manager (code E-85.95) and it is one of the companies in the sector with an environmental business licence.

It takes an active part in the recycling of plastics as a member of the following associations:

– ANAÏP: Asociación Española de Industriales Plásticos (Spanish Association of Industrial Plastics).

– EUPR: European Plastics Recyclers.

– CEP: Centro Español de Plásticos (Spanish Plastics Centre).

– AIMPLAS: Instituto Tecnológico del Plástico (Plastics Technology Institute).

REYTRAPLAST is currently waiting to obtain the ISO 14001 standard.
Some plastic bottles take about 500 years to decompose. A lighter takes 1000 years. A bag takes 55 years.
Most plastics are used in the manufacture of containers or single-use products.
In 2013, in Europe, the demand for packaging plastics was 39%. In Spain, it was 45%.

The gradual increase in the need for plastic products and the high quality of plastics from recycling processes is forcing companies to use more and more recycled plastics in their production processes.

Accordingly, promoting measures based on the circular economy, in which priority is given to reduction and the reuse of raw materials, is one of the great challenges facing Industry in the 21st century.
